Ticks are external parasites that feed on mammals, birds, and other animals but mostly prefer dogs. The size of adult ticks could range from around 3 to 5mm and they feed on their host’s blood for a long time. Adult female ticks could only lay eggs after feeding, and they could produce as many as 1,500 to 5,000 eggs. In order to prevent tick infestation, homeowners and managers should carefully check themselves and their pets for ticks after spending time outside. Allowing sunlight in the area would also decrease moisture and tick habitat. Some diseases include Lyme disease, Anaplasmosis, Babesiosis, and many more.
